Crafty, Explosive, Dynamic... there’s no shortage of complimentary adjectives I could use to describe Lawrent Rice from Hubert Heights Wayne (OH) High School!

If you’ve followed me for a while I’m sure you’ve heard me say a few times how skilled and talented I believe he is. The crazy thing is; he’s nowhere near his ceiling!

He has elite court vision, a high level basketball I.Q., and violent athleticism. His ability to score at all 3 levels makes him capable of being a prolific scorer when needed. He get to the rim at will, creates his own shot and creates for others. He passes the eye test standing at 6’3+ and has the ability to ignite the crowd with electric dunks (often times coming after a steal or forced turnover on the defensive end.) He makes the right reads, is a relentless defender who rebounds/plays the passing lanes exceptionally well and makes everyone around him better. He’s never sped up or uncomfortable with the ball in his hands, and is extremely unselfish. Lawrent is a leader who plays with confidence yet is extremely humble.

Because of the Covid-19 shutdown, a lot of people haven’t had the opportunity to see him nationally. So if this is your first time hearing his name, I guarantee it won’t be the last! I’m certain by the end of the EYBL sessions in July, he will be a household name. Lawrent is scheduled to visit Louisville June 12th, Ohio State on June 17th and has no shortage of high major interest. He currently hold offers from Purdue, Kansas State, Central Michigan & Ohio. If Lawrent continues on his current trajectory, he has a shot to be a top 25 talent in his class before it’s all said and done.
