High school basketball fans know the season has officially started when the Jared Cook Classic (JCC) tips off each year. North Gwinnett's signature event features some of Georgia's best high school teams competing in a three day showcase-style event.
The JCC starts each new hoops season with the same mission as always - generating proceeds and awareness for the Susan G. Komen Foundation of metro Atlanta. The education and research efforts in the fight against breast cancer are dear to the event’s namesake, North Gwinnett grad and current Oakland Raider, Jared Cook, whose mother, Yulinda, is a breast cancer survivor. Over $2,500 a year is raised annually for the cause.
All 2018 Jared Cook Tip-Off Classic games can be watched live on SUVtv. All broadcasts will be available on demand as well.
"We are excited about the 2018 Jared Cook Tip-Off Classic and the talent that we will have a chance to host on our home court at North Gwinnett High School," said Matt Garner, North Gwinnett head coach and event director. "Thanks to Jared for continuing to support his alma mater and allowing us to put on this high quality event. This year's coverage on SUVtv will highlight a field with loaded rosters, outstanding coaches, and high-caliber programs to start the high school basketball season in the state of Georgia."
The event will include a three day schedule starting with four games on Saturday, November 17, five games on Monday, November 19, and five games on Tuesday, November 20.
This will be the fifth consecutive year the event has been shown on SUVtv. "We are looking forward to another year of broadcast coverage from the Jared Cook Classic," says Marques Burnett, Founder of SUVtv, "The event features a great mix of state championship contenders and uses the game we love to support a cause much bigger than the game itself."
