Collegiate lacrosse takes over Johns Creek, GA this weekend as the 2018 Southeastern Lacrosse Conference Tournament comes to town for another championship weekend. The event, set to take place April 20-22, will feature eight Division I teams and six Division II teams all competing for the coveted lacrosse championship and an MCLA national tournament berth. Select games will be available live and on demand on Lacrosse Fire TV.
“For the first time in the history of the MCLA polls, all eight of our SELC Division I tournament qualifiers are in the national top 25," says Liz Tumblin, SELC Tournament Director, “Half of our DII qualifiers are nationally ranked as well so the competition this year will be better than ever. I look forward to crowning two champions that will definitely make some noise in Utah at Nationals in May.”
The first round of the tournament will begin on April 20th and will be spread out between three different sites: Alpharetta High School, Mount Pisgah Christian School, and Northview High School. The semifinals and finals round will be held at Northview High School in Johns Creek, Georgia on April 21st and 22nd - those who can’t make it onsite can catch the semifinal and championship games live on Lacrosse Fire TV.
The SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference (SELC) is a collegiate lacrosse club league based in the Southeastern United States. In 1988, the SELC was founded to provide for organized, regional college level lacrosse competition and to provide an outlet for high school players in the Southeast to play at the collegiate level. Since its inception, the SELC membership has expanded dramatically due to the explosive growth of high school and youth lacrosse in the Southeast.
